Yerba Mate > Coffee (It’s nothing personal)
Yerba mate is a tree from the holly family, and (for now) only grows in humid regions of South America. The brewed dried leaves and stem of this tree (a drink also referred to as “yerba mate”) have a sort of robust, earthy, smoky flavor that is unique to the tea. The drink has been enjoyed by the people of South America for hundreds of years.
With 90% more nutrition than green tea, the centuries-old brew serves as an important source of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and antioxidants. All of these nutrients, combined with naturally-occurring caffeine, enables the brewed “tea” to elevate your mood (some people call it “happy tea!”) and improve your concentration, while also relieving stress. Mate’s unique combination of caffeine and nutrients stimulates your body continuously, rather than giving you a jittery jump start that soon fades away. No afternoon crashes with us!
Our yerba mate is fair trade, organic certified, and imported from family farms in Misiones, Argentina. The unsmoked whole plant cut possesses a lighter, brighter flavor than other mate and has enough caffeine for a great boost.
